The VMware Learning VATC resource site is designed to provide vAPP build guides, templates and resources to facilitate VATC partners building and deploying their own labs.

vApp Templates – A New Way to Share Lab Images

Traditionally, lab deliverables consist of a VATC build guide and associated file sets to support the build process (VM images, ISOs, and tools). This worked well when our products were relatively simple and our course lab environments straightforward. However, as our products have become more complex, so have our course lab environments. As a consequence, VATC build guides have become exponentially more complex and difficult to maintain with a high level of accuracy. It also becomes a very difficult task for someone to follow the instructions diligently and without error. This has forced us to revaluate how we service this need going forward.

• For more complex courses, where possible we will offer them as OVF/OVA vApp images that can be imported into a Cloud Director environment.
• Where practical, we will continue to offer VATC build guides and supporting file sets for ‘core’ VATC courses.
